In Your Grace

Might to Save

Testimony

Sachiko: she shared her salvation testimony, how she met Jesus for the first time, which is twenty-something years ago. She is now temporarily back to Japan, but must go back to Arizona next month.

Message: Wayne

Title of the message was: "He Rolled Away The Stone"

Scripture: John 20: 1-20, Easter Sunday

Theme: For One Life

Wayne taught us the meaning of the cross. We read John 3:16 and were reminded of God's love. Jesus suffered on the cross and was crucified, by his stripes we are healed.

Wayne taught us that Jesus received 39 stripes, as there are 39 major root causes of disease in the world, which is recognized by the AMA (American Medical Association)

Also, we were reminded that Jesus' blood washes away our sins, as atonement of blood as is written in Isaiah. Jesus said "It is finished!". He died so that we can live. We saw a video that illustrates John 20. The message was concluded to mark that because of Love that God sent his Son and we now celebrate Easter. He is real. Have you confessed Jesus as your Lord and Savior?

Next week, we will hear some report of Tohoku volunteer work. I am looking forward to hearing testimony from Rico and Masafumi.

[ Icebreak ]

We started with the icebreak.

Today, Kumi led us to the word-association game. We're divided into five groups, and Sachiko-san's team won!

We all had a fun time, thank you, Kumi.

[ Worship ]

Thank you、Miki and Shin for P.A.,and Gou for lights.

・Take It All

・Open My Eyes

・Mighty To Save

We were made to worship God. Worshiping is our strength. We appreciate God to be able to praise God anytime!

[ Testimony ]

Today, Kumi shared her testimony with a beautiful smile on her face.

On her bitter time, Kumi found the real Love of God. She taught us to humble before God and to pray.

The Spirit helps us in our weakness. We do not know what we ought to pray for, but the Spirit himself cannot express.

And He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit, because the Spirit intercedes for the saints in accordance with God's will. (Romans 8:26,27)

[ Message ]

Wayne taught us the importance to pray to Holy Spirit with our patience and our true faith.

We have to be patient until the Lord is coming back. We should re-think how Job beared in his hard time.

We don't have to be afraid of the earthquake nor radioactive contamination.

Let's trust in God, and pray to God that we become like Jesus, then Jesus would teach us how we should be. (James 5:7-15, Job)

Thank you, Wayne and Riko for interpreting!!

We closed the meeting with the wouderful worship "God Of The City" with video of Tohoku Tsunami disaster.

Thank you God that you made us for joy and happiness. May God's mercy be with this Japan, the city of God.

[ Refreshment Time ]

Yay, we had many kind of snacks! By the way, we had 20 people in today's TGIS, Yaaaaay!!

"How good and pleasant it is when brothers live together in unity!"

Romans 10:14-15 (New International Version, ©2011)

14 How, then, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them? 15 And how can anyone preach unless they are sent? As it is written: "How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news!"

Hi Everyone, we hope that you are doing fine after all the tsunami, earthquake, and radiation leak. These are scary times, but we trust in Jesus to take us through. This is what happened this week at TGIS.

Icebreak:
To start off our icebreak we played and old game taught to us by our beloved Ronnie, it's called Two Truths and One Lie. Where the individual will say three statements 2 truths and 1 untruth and the rest of the group has to guess which is the lie. We had a difficult time from telling which was the untruth from the real thing.

Worship:
We had Mamiko lead us into worship to Jesus. Our computer was not working well so Mamiko played the piano and we had a live worship service unto the Lord. Thank you Mamiko you are so talented.

Testimony:
We were surprised by our brother Colin Sewake as he came from working at a nearby Airforce Base. Colin gave a short testimony of his conversion and why he was in Tokyo for the past week and a half doing logistics of sending food, supplies, aid and help with the disaster relief in the Tohoku area. Colin is originally from Hawaii and now lives in Okinawa with his family. He will be shipped out to Georgia USA next week. Thanks Colin, we'll be praying for you. See you in November.

Message:
Finally we had a pleasant surprise as we had the female dynamic duo Kumi and Riko doing the message and interpreting respectively. Kumi shared 1 Corinthians 12:12, One Body, Many Parts. Where each one of us are a part of the body with different talents and uses and together we are the body of Christ moving as one person doing the will of God. She also likened it to our theme For One Life, where we all can doing our different things make a difference for one life.

Finally we ended with our last song and had a great time of fellowship. Robert Matsumoto brought us sandwiches and goodies that his wife Lauren made. Thanks Bob and Lauren. There were 4 new people visiting for the first time. They came to drop off things for the Tohoku Disaster Relief Mission.
Please come this week as Pastor Elmer will share on his mission to Miyagi Prefecture for the last 3 weeks. Come out to TGIS and be blessed. God bless you!

Hello, everyone! This week was another TGIS.
Although Japan was in confusion because of the big earthquake, we came to God's House, to worship and pray for each of us and for Japan. Thank God for bringing us to this meeting.

[ Ice Break ]
I'm very sorry, today I was an ice-breaker, but we didn't have Ice-break time...

[ Worship ] We worship three sweet songs:
1.How Great Is Our God
2.Here I  Am To Worship
3.You Are Good

[ Testimony ]
This cool guy Gou shared his "March 11"and what happened on the next day. Because of the earthquake, he had no job on the last Saturday, but went to the blood-donation center. Gou hated hypodermic needle so much, but he did it anyway. And then he thought about Jesus's Crucifixion."How huge the nails were that Jesus got his body compared with the neelle I took! "Gou said. That was touching, thank you Gou.

[ Sharing and prayer ]
Today Pastor Elmer went to Tohoku-area, and Wayne went to Hawaii, so we shared about us and prayed for each one of us.  Tomoko and Miki told of the Grace of God on 3/11. Riko recomended  preparing for disaster prevention measures in her stylish day-pack! Yue told her these hard days because of her company Mizuho Bank's trouble. Aki shared to us of the services by Pastor Elmer and Pastor Shingo. Finally, we shared the Word; Mark 10:45, "For even the Son of Man did not come to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many. " Matthew 24:14 "And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come."Yes, the Lord never punish us because of his Crucifixion. Jesus is our Redeemer, and the Prince of Peace. We are always in His Peace, amen. Let's pray for this coming Spring in the Tohoku-area. We closed the meeting with a song "One Way"

Thank you, today's tec-team, Miki, Aki and Tomoko, and all the members of our TGIS. We are looking for see you all soon! God bless you!!!      }

Hi everyone and welcome to the TGIS blog. Thank God It's Saturday!
We started off with a translation game from English words into Japanese romaji. Some people complained 2 words were difficult, but we had fun anyway.
Then Riko led us into worshiping our Lord Jesus Christ. She talked about the earthquake, tsunami, and Power Plant leak. No matter what happens we still have bless his name.

The PA was done by the ever talented Miki and I forgot his name who worked the sound board.

We then had a time of prayer for Sendai, Miyagi, Iwate, and the Fukushima areas. it was a solemn time of making our request to God for the disaster stricken people.
We had a message on Psalm 27, where the Lord is our light and salvation who shall we fear or what shall we fear. The secret is in seeking the Lord, wanting to be in his house and beholding his beauty. He will keep us safe in the day of trouble, hide us in his shelter and set us on the high rock. And if he doesn't then we can be like Job and say, Though he slay me, yet will I trust him! We need to trust in the Lord for we shall see his goodness in the land of the living, just wait on Him.

We closed with the song Blessed be the Name of the Lord. And the refreshments were yummy! Hope to see you there! God bless you!
