A great icebreak was presented by the lovely Anly, where we pick a favorite color and she tells us what character trait the color says about the person. Very fun!

Next, Pastor Elmer and the live band did the worship unto the Lord. The band consisted of Mamiko, Sam, Keiju, Ronnie, Terry, and Yutaka.

We had the word of the Lord given to us by Kurt as he told of angels of the Lord that are fighting a battle in the heavenlies. Japan will be won over and become a Christian nation.

Today's message was facing fiery trials. 1 Peter 4:12, 13. Don't be surprised, don't think it strange, but rejoice for we show the Lord's suffering. Also be humble and alert for God loves the humble and our adversary the devil seeks to devour us if we're not careful. He can make us ineffective for God. Jesus can save us if we stand firm in our faith. He is with us in the toughest of times!

We finished up with the last song, an ending prayer, refreshment and fellowship
time.

Lights were done by Miho and PA by Ronnie. Thanks everyone. God bless you!

Next week, we will move TGIS to Kawaguchi Lilia. We will join the Pastor Gajima from Tanzania, Africa. He will have a word for us. Come out and be blessed!

Praise the Lord!
We had great time at this TGIS as well.
Here is what happened to.

Icebreak - Ronnie

Wwe used  'would like A rather than B' to introduce ourselves. It was good way to learn English!

Testimony - Miho

Miho shared the story about how to decide to follow Jesus in her life.

Message - Travis

'Dispenser'

Iin New Testament, Jesus met one person in each village.
It was not main purpose for Jesus to see him/her.
Bbut through one person he healed,or showed miracle act...There,many people accepted Jesus was the Savior.

See,we can share the gospel with many people through one person.

We need keep praying for one person.

Worship
Wayne, Maru, Aiko, Mamiko,Sam,and Yutaka

Welcome to the Thank God It's Saturday's Blog. It was another rip-roaring service at TGIS.
To start things off was a very physical game by the talented Yuri as we did a toss the paper plate stepping stone game. We had 3 teams making across the room to the other side with the last person picking up the paper plates. Thank you Yuri. A little exercise gets the blood pumping!

Due to technical difficulties we had the Open Mike session first. The very funny Mamiko tell us a joke about Christmas then translated herself. Ha ha ha!

Next there was a Hawaiian joke about 3 guys before a firing squad. Hardly anybody got the joke. That one was not told by Mamiko.

Finally the worship team was on track. Travis on guitar and lead worship, Eliane on piano and vocals, and Yutaka vocals, and percussion, led us into worship of our Lord Jesus Christ. We had a full band and that was a treat. Thanks guys and gal live worship is the best.

Lastly, we had the message on Faith, good deeds and love! We must first have faith in God and then we are to show our faith by our deeds or good works. Abraham and the harlot Rahab were good examples of their faith in action. We don't want to be talking Christians, we want to show our faith by our good works.

Kumi shared about Miho who has been coming to TGIS for a few months. Kumi befriended Miho, spent time with her and Yue bought some books from the Christian bookstore. Two weeks ago Miho entered the hospital for some medical problem. Last week Miho gave her life to Christ and the TGIS people were excited. She gets out of the hospital on Tuesday. Praise God for He answers prayer!
Now that is faith with good works in action.

Travis led the last song, then Pastor Elmer closed in prayer. And then refreshment time where we get to eat and mingle. Thanks again Robert and Lauren for the salami/pepperoni snacks! It was yummy!

So if you think of coming to TGIS then COME! Check us out! God bless your week!

[Ice Break]

We tried to find a partner who has same sound in English and Japanese.
For example
"Shut your mouth up, die"=shacho- mausuda(CEO, give me money for mask)
"I hold you tight"=aho mitai(it seems stupid)

  [Worship Service]
Makito led the praise songs.

[Testimonies]
Many pastors visited us today. They are from the US, Myanmar, and North-Eastern Japan.

  [Message]
Pastor Minegishi came from Miyagi Prefecture, and gave us a sermon.
We learned that by God's love, our sins  are forgiven, and we can pray together.

Ice Break

Today Miki led the Icebreaker. He taught us his original, the
"Sherlock Holmes game".

This game in which the role Sherlock Holmes guess the culprit. That was fun.

Worship

After the Icebreaker, we have worship time. Mr. Maruyama led us and we
praise the Lord

with one heart to everyone.

・Friend Of God

・How Great Is Our God

・ One Way

Open Mike

Recently we have a short time "Open Mike".Today Robert shared us a
joke. I don't remember

the detail of the story but it was funny.

Message

The following is the message by Pastor Inafuku.

Today's topic is "Spiritual fathers and children".

What's the principle of being a good father? Good fathers need to
edify themselves and their children.

They should elevate their spilit and edify others. We, spiritual
fathers are shepherds, the wathes.

And to be good shepherds we need "the order".(1 Corinthians 14)

To watch and edify others is the evangelism and the gospel !

Then we watched the video of Tohoku. In this video, we heared the
voice of Miki Endo, one of the public servants of Minami-sanriku.

Miki continued to broadcast warning and alerts over a community
loudspeaker system as the tsunami came in.

She was credited with waving many lives. Her great deed remains us
Jesus and His Salvation for all of the world.

Now Japan is in confusion. The trouble of the nuclear plant is unsettled yet.

However, let's remember our mission of our life. Let's love people and
lead them to the eternal lives.

After the message, we praise "Church On Fire", and had a refreshment-time.

We sincerely thank you and God bless you all !

Hello TGIS Lovers!

Coming straight from Shinjuku West, Miho started off our icebreaker. We did a rock, paper, sissors train game. It's where people pair off and do a toss up using rock, sissors, paper, the loser gets behind the winner and make like a train holding their shoulders. They seek out others to play the game until there is only one train and one winner Maru!

Our worship was led by Mamiko. The was the best that I've seen Mamiko do as she led us in worship to Jesus! The songs were excellent.

The PA was done by the expertise of Keiju and Miki. The did not miss a beat.

Ronnie did our open mike session as he gave a testimony of losing his wallet from riding his motorcycle. He prayed and God answered in 2 days. He picked it up at the Shinjuku Police Station where all is money and driver's license were intact. Praise the Lord! Ronnie also told a funny joke. Well at least I got it.

Travis did the message on Building Church Teams. It was simple, it starts off with the greatest commandment of loving God with all of our hearts, strength, mind and soul. And the second great commandment was to love our neighbor as ourselves. When we can love one another we can love God with all that we've got. This is good team building principles, Jesus did that.
Interpreting was done by the multi-tasked Kumi. Good job Travis and Kumi.

We closed with our final song and prayed. The refreshment time. Everyweek, Robert Matsumoto brings goodies from Yokota Air Base. Thanks Bob and Lauren. The Lord bless you!

So don't just read about TGIS come out and be an important part of it. The Lord give you His favor and make you a part of His Team. The Lord bless!
