Hi Everyone again and welcome to the TGIS blog. We had
another power packed meeting at Shinjuku, where everyone is
welcomed.
We started off with the smiling Kumi as she
introduced Riddles for our Icebreak. Boy, did it break our heads, I
mean the ice. Sam's team won for the most correct answers. They were
actually the scholars team as intelligence rules!
Our worship was led by Sam as we sang some new and some familiar songs to the Lord. He read some scriptures and we catapulted into the
presence of the Lord.
Kumi was also our emcee and introduced Aki for his personal
testimony. He talked about growing up in a Christian home, but by the time he
was in high school he wanted to do his own thing. It was in college after
attending a Christian camp he met Jesus in a real way and now he is serving the
Lord with all his might!
The message was on The Lord Looks On The Heart, as we
studied about King Saul the kind of man he was. Israel wanted a
king like the other nations around them. They rejected the Lord in asking for a
king. Saul was an impressive person: tall, dark, and handsome. The Lord gave
Israel what they wanted, outward appearances. As we found out Saul was selfish,
impatient and wanting to take matters into his own hands. He did not obey the
Lord and his kingdom was taken from him. It is better to obey than to sacrifice.
The Lord is looking for a person after His own heart. He does not look on
the outward appearance, but the heart after God! David was that man. We need to
be like David. Then we can be For One Life.
We closed with song about Lord I Give You My Heart which
matched perfectly with the message. That was a blessing. Then we had fellowship and food. There were 2 new people who came. So
please come out and join us to worship Jesus
together!
