Welcome all you TGIS blog readers. We had a another astounding meeting yesterday for the beloved TGIS Thank God It's Friday!

To start off, the ever talented Ronnie did a Bingo game using your favorite color, animal, food, place, country, sport, hobby, etc. If someone else had the same category, you could mark your bingo card. The surprising thing is most of us got Bingo before the time was up.

Next Travis led the worship with a hymn and more contemporary songs. He challenged us to worship the Lord for He is worthy. We even had live music as Trav played the guitar to worship the Almighty.

Then we had an Open Mike session where anyone can do or say something interesting for 2 min. If you go over the 2 min mark there is a penalty buzzer. We were treated to a mind-blower by the ever lovely and brainiac Kumi as she talked about Anybody, Everybody, Somebody, and Nobody.

The message was about this month's theme Team Building in the Church. There are many kinds of teams in this world: sports, debate, chess and they all have one this in common, complementary skills to see a job, goals, plan to get done. Jesus was the ultimate team builder as he led his disciples with love, grace, and understanding. His disciples were misfits in regular society, but under Jesus, they became sturdy Christians that started the 1st Century Church. He gave them and us a sizable vision, mission and plan. The worst thing for any human is to lead an unfulfilled, unfruitful, and boring life. Jesus came to bring us life and life to the full.
TGIS is a team and we are a family, fellowship, together, unified, and loving one another.

PA was done by the computer wiz Keiju.
Lights were flicked by Iwa-san

Hope to see at the next TGIS where Jesus is glorified! Aloha Ke Akua

And here are some pictures of our fellowship time.
The sandwich made by Mamiko-san was veryyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy delicious.

Dear all!!!

Welcome to this week's TGIS!

Mamiko-san started this meeting with an awesome ice break game called "Shabidi Shabidi Dubudu Dubudu"... I think i might have remembered this wrong but it is close enough. haha.
Anyways, Mamiko-san learned this game from some Filipino friends. Basically, the leader will do a pose while saying the chant "Shabidi Shabidi DubuDu Dubudu", and then after she says that, the next person has to copy her pose, and say the chant. After the chant, the next next person will copy the pose.
The leader will keep doing one pose per chant, so each pose is copied down the row.

Very interesting game!!

Worship (by Wayne)
1) Your Grace is Enough: Chris Tomlin
2) Today is the Day: Lincoln Brewster
3) As the Deer: Don Moen
4) Make Me A Servant: Maranatha Singers

Testimony
Robert shared about how sometimes we Christians may be stuck in a problem and all kind of doubts come up. At that time, we should point to our head and say, " TOO BIG", and point to our heart and say, "Too Small".    The point is to trust God with our heart.

Message (Pastor Elmer)
Pastor showed us some pictures from his trip to North Eastern Japan, where he helped out with the refugees and sharing the gospel with them.
The pictures revealed the devastation the earthquake had inflicted on the land.

The following pictures are of a building of the department of Strategic Disaster Prevention in one of the tsunami-hit area.  The story about this building is that, over 30 public servants were in this building, announcing the tsunami alert, but the tsunami was so high that it swept over the building.  The mayor and the rest of the public servants were on the root, holding on to the antenna. All the people were supporting the mayor and keeping him from being swept away.
In the end, only the mayor and 10 other public servants were left alive on the roof of this building.

Mark 13:1~2
"Look, Teacher! What massive stones! What magnificent buildings!"
"Do you see all these great buildings?" replied Jesus. " Not one stone here will be left on another; every one will be thrown down."

Earthquakes and natural disasters are the signs of hte end of the Age. However, exactly when the end will arrive, no one can know except for the Father.

Mark 13:32
"No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father."

Pastor shared how the Japanese people of the Tohoku region are very grateful of the voluneeters' service and are receptive to listening about the gospel. Their hearts have been broken and are willing the receive the love of Christ. Pastor shared that although most people in Japan are reluctant or hesistant to hear about the gospel, there is one region where you can go to and the people are willing to receive your love. Hallelujah, may God bless the people in Tohoku. Let's keep praying for them.

Thank you all for coming today!
We'll see you next week again!

God bless,

2011.04.30 TGIS Weekly Blog (posted by Ronnie)

Dear lovely viewers of our blog,
Sorry for such a long delay for this week's blog.

In this week's TGIS, the honorable brother Aki led us in icebreaker along with Kumi who interpreted for him. The ice break game was that everyone had a piece of paper attached to their back. On this paper, the name of a fruit was written. Everyone has to go around and ask each other questions to find out what fruit they are. The answers can only be "YES" or "NO".

"Am I green?"       "No"
"Am I round?"       "yes"
"Am I sweet?"       "yes"
"Am I hard? "        "yes"
"Am I a strawberry?"     "No"
"Am I an apple?"      "YES!!!"

Worship Song
1. How Great is Our God
2. Here I am to Worship
3. My All in All

Testimony
Dear Riko and Masafumi showed us pictures of their trip to Tohoku to help the refugees of the 311 earthquake.  Thank God for their kindness to the needed. May God bless Japan and recover the disaster stricken places and people.

Message
Today Pastor Elmer shared about what is SIN and what is doing RIGHT.

According to James 2: 8
"If you really keep the royal law found in Scripture, 'Love your neighbor as yourself, ' you are doing riht."

However,  when we put ourselves in the center of everything... just like SIN, with the  letter "I" in the middle.   When we become self-centered, we are prone to sin and do things to hurt others and not according to God's will.

Jesus taught us that there are two core commands that we need to keep. "1. Love God"  and "2. Love Your Neighbors"
Because when we remember to follow this order, we will be able to be happy.
Why?  A good keyword is JOY.  The order of the letters in this word is
J - Jesus    O - Others   Y - You
When you put Jesus first, Others second, and Yourself third, you will definitely be blessed with JOY in your life.

Hallelujah, so what does it mean to LOVE OTHERS?

According to Titus 3:2
"to slander no one, to be peaceable and considerate, and always to be gentle toward everyone."
